More about Survive the Streets...

Patti Dunn and Michael Grabham are co-founders of "Survive the Streets", an annual event that is held on Thanksgiving day. This event began 16 years ago on Thanksgiving Day 1999 when Patti and Mike packed up their extra food and socks to give to the homeless men who lived nearby. Now, they set up a popup store in downtown Seattle every year where they invite the homeless community to come and shop for gear they need to survive the streets. They give out warm coats, backpacks, sleeping bags, gloves, socks, hygiene kits and have local food trucks cook them a hot breakfast.

Survive The Streets is a registered non-profit and last year alone helped 272 men and women. This year Survive The Streets expects to help 300 of Seattle's homeless. Patti and Mike feel it is important to work with our local shelters and help the people using these shelters to Survive the winter in Seattle. They contact local shelters and invite them to have their members sign up to attend this event on Thanksgiving day.

Survive The Streets has touched the lives of hundres of homeless people and because of them they will be able to surive Seattle's cold and rainy winter again this year. The success of this event is due to the help and dontaions they receive from our community.

Let's join together to benefit Survive The Streets and all the homeless men and women out there.
